Will The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 Live Up To All Of The Hype?
**Attention some very brief spoilers are talked about below!
So these next 4 weeks seem to be what the entire movie industry was waiting for. While their have been some massive hits, from Jurassic World to the new Avengers being released; make no mistake that this was a great year for Hollywood execs. But within these next 4 weeks, the new James Bond movie comes out, the Hunger Games ends its trilogy and the much awaited Star Wars is making its glorious return to the big screen!
Lets just say that this Christmas season will be opening up a steady stream of money being dropped into movie execs hands with a lineup like that. But to get back on track, will the Hunger Games truly live up to the expierance that everyone is expecting?
I may be the odd person here, but I did read the books but I actually think this last movie will be better than the last book. I realize that many of you will stop reading the moment you read that sentence as you could not possibly think that any book is not more well done and complete than a movie can portray it. But stay with me for a second.
The fact that they broke the last book into two movies (for obvious cash grab reasons) also allowed them to be a bit more in depth on their story telling compared to other movie adaptions like The Lord Of The Rings. Secondly if anyone here has read the last book I personally thought it was just horrible. I absolutely loved the first book, but each book I read in the trilogy personally got worse and worse for me.
The main reason I say this is because I felt the last book turned into basically a shitty twilight version of kids killing each other. It was basically Katniss saying that she loves Gail or Peeta; OVER AND OVER AND OVER. I swear it seemed like every 50 pages she kept flip flopping on who she actually loved and cared for. She literally kissed each one, made each one hold her, cried for each one; it seriously got sickening to the point I almost decided to NOT finish the last book.
Now I was truly scared to watch part 1 of this last book to movie adaption because I was preparing myself to want to puke in my mouth every time Jennifer Lawrence professed her love for Peeta or Gail. But in the first movie the director really didn’t even go that route with the screen time they had. Due to that fact, that is the only reason I am somewhat hopeful this Part 2 of Mockingjay will be any good. So far the initial review on metacritic seem promising, but as long as the director does not force me to watch 3 hours of Katniss being torn over her two lover boys (I can stand about 15 mins that’s it!) then I most likely will grab a ticket and enjoy the show!
