It was the British star Adele that led the charge at the BRIT Awards in London with four wins including best British female artist, best single for her record-breaking hit “Hello,” and the best album for “25,” and a smash hit on both sides of the Atlantic. This definitely is surely a wonderful way to back up the unfortunate event went through at the Grammys 2016. Adele actually rounded out the haul with the Global Success Award. She really is an amazing artist and no more questions regarding her talents.

The ceremony is like the British equivalent of the Grammys. It was tinged with a sense of loss as the UK music industry paid tribute to David Bowie who died of cancer in January shortly after releasing his final album “Blackstar.”

There are a lot of winners during the event and lets go through them.

The Singer Annie Lennox who is the winner of the BRIT Icon Award called the much-loved Bowie a “quintessential visionary” and “the ultimate iconoclast.” He and his band from throughout his four-and-a-half decades of performances took to the stage to perform a medley of his best-loved songs, which was later joined by singer Lorde who brought the emotional performance to an end with Bowie’s Life on Mars.

The actor friend of the music iconGary Oldmanalso took to the stage to accept the Icon Award and to acclaim Bowie. He said during his speech that David was mortal but his potential was superhuman and his remarkable music is living on.”

The big winner includes Adele who certainly owned the night. She was the London-bornwho closed out the ceremony with a rendition of “When We Were Young,” shortly after winning Album of the Year”25″ has sold over 19 million copies worldwide and the award brought her to four wins for the night equaling Blur’s record. The amazing singer thanked her legion of fans in her final acceptance speech of the night saying they are all incredible and they always blow her away. She also used the opportunity to publicly support Kesha who had a legal challenge to annul a recording contract thrown out following her allegation of sexual assault against record producer Dr. Luke.

Adele got the British Album of the year beating the British band Coldplay who picked up the British Group award. The Coldplay racked up its ninth Brit award and dedicated it to all the young men and women musicians in refugee camps around the world. But with all this awards, India is apparently annoyed with Coldplay and Beyoncé’s new video. India surely has reasons why but going back, it was James Bay who won British Male Solo Artist and the Bottle men the British Breakthrough Act. The British Video award goes to One Directionwhich was voted by fans on social media. The Weekend and Little Mix performance as well during the event but was somewhat overshadowed by Drake and Rhianna’s raunchy and eye-popping duet.
