Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
Who is excited for this new film???
The film ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ drops a thrilling Teaser Trailer. The first Teaser Trailer was dropped for the initial foray into anthology stories for the Star Wars universe earlier this week and we got a look at Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The film was surely compelling based on the latest trailer. Coming to us to us at the end of the year sandwiched between Episode VII and Episode VIII of the main saga. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will fill in some of the blanks in the franchise which is a potentially really cool notion so let us whet your appetite a bit!
The film is the tale of how rebel spies stole the plans to the Death Star and set between the events of Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. Jyn Erso played by Felicity Jones is recruited to lead the mission to depict some of the skirmishes between the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire.
Gareth Edwards will be the one who directs here from a screenplay by John Knoll along with Chris Weitz and Gary Whitta. The ensemble cast in addition to Jones includes Forest Whitaker, MadsMikkelsen and Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn and Donnie Yen, Jiang Wen and Riz Ahmed, and Alan Tudyk among others. Cinematography is by under-appreciated DP Greig Fraser on the technical side while the score comes from the always busy Alexandre Desplat. That is a lot of talent in front of and behind the camera making this a project that would be intriguing even if it had nothing to do with Star Wars.
This will really put the war in Star Wars from the looks of it. The Teaser Trailer showcases a number of large scale set pieces that will certainly suggest a less than intimate affair. That is actually a good thing since it suggests that these side stories won’t be done with any less care than the main Episodes that capture our attention in such a profound way. The film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has the potential to be a really big hit especially if it winds up being anywhere near the quality that Star Wars: The Force Awakens brought to the table.
This will be limited to the technical categories Awards wise though obviously remains to be seen. A lot of critics are psyched as can be to see Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in overall and they think we will agree with them once you see the Teaser Trailer released this week.
It looks just like what you would expect while also being somewhat different as well that is pretty much the see the spot for this film. This will hardly be the last time that we discuss the movie so count on plenty more discussion before the release date this December. Go ahead and check out the Teaser Trailer for now and sit tight for lots more discussion of the flick as we slowly move towards its mid December release.
